Lot Essay

A pair of gilt-bronze candelabra of this model, on porphyry bases, were formerly in the collection of Madame Jean Stern and were sold by the Comtesse Sanjust di Teulada, Sotheby's Monaco, 13 February 1983, lot 413. Another pair on ormolu bases were sold anonymously, Sotheby's New York, 21 May 1988, lot 79
