Lot Essay

Nicolas Louis Cyrille Lannuier, maître in 1783

This type of very sober mahogany furniture is characteristic of Lannuier's work although he did produce some pieces inlaid with floral marquetry of very high quality, including a superb commode from the Dubois-Chefdebieu Collection, sold in Paris, 13-14 February 1941, lot 111.
