Lot Essay

The group portrays Mme. Renoir seated and nursing her first baby, Pierre. Executed by Richard Guino and under the direction of Renoir, this work was intended as a study for a large statue to be placed on Mme. Renoir's tomb at Essoyes, which was never executed.
