A GEORGE III SILVER INKSTAND
Maker's mark of Edward Aldridge, London, 1763, mounts and covers unmarked
The rounded rectangular stand on four hairy lion's paw supports, with two pen depressions, the three openwork trelliswork frames with molded corners, platform center crest engraved, all with gadrooned rim, with three covered glass pots, crest repeated on one cover--the frame 10¼in. (26cm.) long, weighable silver 21oz.
