Parts I-III in one volume, 4° (275 x 200mm). Engraved title vignettes to parts II and III, 4 engraved plates to part I. (Occasional light spotting.) Contemporary vellum (inner hinge slightly split).

FIRST EDITIONS. The first three parts of Adversa Anatomica including the rare first part published in Bologna. Morgagni was the founder of pathological anatomy, and through his post mortem examinations advanced the procedure of basing diagnosis, prognosis and treatment on the knowledge of the anatomical conditions of common diseases. This is one of his earliest works, he became Professor of Anatomy at Padua. The work was completed in 1719 in a total of six parts. cf. Waller 6669 (Padua 1719 edition).
