Collation: a-g6 h-i4 (a1r title and cut, a1v Britannicus's letter to the people of Brescia, a2r Lives of Persius by Britannicus and Fontius, a3r text and commentaries, t3r editor's letter to Franciscus Saxetus, t3v colophon, register and printer's woodcut device, t4 blank). 50 leaves. Roman types 3:108 (text) and 1:82A (commentary), 60 lines of commentary surrounding varying numbers of lines of text. White-on-black woodcut floral initials. Woodcut on title showing the poet and his commentators at work with cupboards full of codices. (Some worming and staining.) Old vellum binding.
The right-hand compartment of the title-cut is movable. In Tacuinus's Juvenal, finished not much more than a fortnight before this Persius, the same block appears showing two commentators; here it shows a single commentator and an extra open cupboard of books.
