Dark-green morocco, the upper cover inlaid with large wood panel (the grain running vertically), inlaid irregularly with the title in cross-grained sections, the lower cover inlaid with large plain wood, flat spine with title inlaid in light brown morocco, author and illustrator in gilt, raffia doublures and liners, original covers and spine preserved, t.e.g., clear-plastic-backed chemise, slipcase, by P. L. Martin, dated 1959. Provenance: Paul Eluard (inscription); P.L. Martin (booklabel).
