Maker's mark probably that of John Robinson II, London, 1753
Baluster, cast, on shaped base with flowers, foliage and rocaille, the body with swirled flutes, two sides with chinoiserie scenes, one of a figure in a garden, the other with parasol, each engraved above with coat-of-arms, the wood scroll handle issuing from boar's mask join, with high scroll spout, the conformingly decorated cover with hinge pin, and topped by flower form detachable finial for a molinet, the underside engraved with scratch weight 38 = 7--10½in. (26.67cm.) high, gross weight 42oz.
