AN AMERICAN FIVE-PIECE SILVER TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE WITH A TWO-HANDLED SILVER-PLATED TRAY
Maker's mark of A.G. Schultz & Co., Baltimore, circa 1920, the tray stamped L.B.S. Co.
The set comprising coffee pot, teapot, two-handled covered sugar bowl, cream jug and waste bowl, each baluster on four tapering palmette and foliate supports, the sides chased with continuous bold flowering foliage on matted ground, the pots with decorated components, with highly upraised spout, scroll handle, everted scalloped rim and the hinged low domed cover topped by flower finial, all bases engraved M.H.W. JUNE 9, 1928--the coffee pot 9in. (22.54cm.) high, the four footed, oval, monogrammed, two-handled tray with two broad bands of engraved foliate scrolls, with fruited grapevine rim and handles--length over handles 28½in. (72.39cm.), gross weight of set 102oz. (6)
