Maker's mark of Gorham, no. 355, retailed by Starr & Marcus, circa 1866
Comprising a large baluster coffee pot, two teapots, two-handled covered sugar bowl, milk jug and waste bowl, each urn form, on spreading circular base, the mid-section with broad band quartered by applied Classical portrait medallions, divided by arabesque foliage, engraved one side with monogram OL, other side engraved From JL Aug. 19, 1866, with maiden's mask headed handle with lotus leaf lower join, the spout applied with mask and palmette, the hinged cover with applied seated sphinx finial--the coffee pot 11½in. (29.21cm.) high, gross weight 161oz. (6)
