Dark brown patina with areas of oxidisation; minor casting flaws; one toe repaired.

Lot Essay

The attitude of the present figure is closely related to that of the so-called Amerbach Venus (Avery, loc. cit.), the only significant differences being that the bend of her legs is reversed, and that she holds the golden apple of Paris in her right hand instead of a mirror.
