A PREDYNASTIC WHITE ON RED POTTERY BOWL, the conical bowl with everted rim, tapering to an almost flat base, the exterior decorated with two bands of white painted chevrons bordering an upper frieze of triangles infilled with diminishing triangles, the lower frieze of triangles infilled with horizontal lines, a band of short vertical lines above the foot, the interior rim with an encircling band of chevron, repaired with slight restoration, Naqada I, circa 4000-3600 B.C.
