A FAIENCE 'NEW YEAR' FLASK, the neck in the form of a papyrus column flanked by two seated adoring baboons representing Thoth, the recorder of time, the shoulder decorated with a double collar, the edge of the flask with a column of inscription on each side linked by crosshatching, one side wishing a Happy New Year, the other with invocations to Ptah and Sekhmet, Dynasty XXVI (664-525 B.C.)
