The same inscription is known on other engraved stones including cameos, for example, from the Blacas collection now in the British Museum (A. H. Smith, A Catalogue of the Engraved Gems in the British Museum, Department of Greek and Roman Antiquities, The British Museum, London, 1888, no. 2164). The EYTYXI means "for the good wishes of the wearer" and the AKAKIN probably means "may you know no ill". Cf. M. Henig, The Content Cameos, Oxford, 1990, nos. 27-56 for the general inscribed cameo type, including one with a similar inscription
