A CAMPANIAN POTTERY BELL KRATER, from the AV Group II, by the Painter of B.M. F 190,
Side A: showing a seated nude male figure to the left, wearing a wreath and holding an ear of corn over a flaming altar, on the right a standing draped female figure with her hair tied in a sakkos, holding a situla in her left hand and a beaker in her right over the altar, a sash in the field,
Side B: a female figure running to the left but looking back over her shoulder towards a large casket which she holds up in her left hand, her flowing chiton falling from her shoulder to reveal her left breast, her hair bound in a sakkos, flanked by scrolling tendrils and palmettes
running scrolls under the ground line, with palmettes under the handles and encircling laurel wreath under the rim, mid-4th Century B.C.
