A CONTINENTAL SILVER NODDING FIGURE
Probably German, late 19th century, struck with London import marks for 1900
Formed as a barrel-bodied rustic gentleman, on raised naturalistic ground stand, a sword in one hand, and upraised goblet in the other, the detachable head with ribbon-tied lacy ruff, above with nodding jovial bearded face--8½in. (21.5cm.) high, 13oz.
