A CORNELIAN BEAD NECKLACE, comprising cyindrical beads divided by disc-shaped spacers, with fourteen tear-shaped pendant beads flanking a central drop pendant; a strand with alternating blue glass polygonal and long tubular beads, some hexagonal, with quartz disc spacers; a strand with amber glass beads alternating with long amber glass twisted or conjoined beads, the central horizontal cylindrical pendant with two suspension loops; another, with amber single and long conjoined cylindrical beads, interspersed with blue glass rings and five central amber glass pendants or bullae; and another, with small green, red and yellow beads dividing fifteen bone pendants, each decorated with encircling incised lines, all restrung with modern clasps, late 1st millennium B.C./Roman period, Eastern Mediterranean, 17½in.
