The records reveal that one sheet of 24 typewritten carbon copies in blue was produced and that no remainders were destroyed. However, no example has been recorded and is thought not to exist. The 24 are included in the total of 144 shown as being produced of the 1d. on thin wove paper.

Twopence Value
Two plates were produced; Plates 1 and 2 each consisted of twenty-four stamps. The major varieties were:
a) Error; 1d. and 2d. se-tenant Plate 2; Pos. 18
b) "G.R.I." shifted to left Plate 1; Pos. 17
c) Initialled in red ink Plate 1, S.G.30 only
d) "L" of "LONG" doubled Plate 1, Pos. 18
e) "G.R.I." shifted to right Plate 2, Pos. 16
f) "y" under "t" of "postage" Plate 2, Pos. 12
g) "TWO PENCE" shifted to left Plate 2, Pos. 9
A total of 288 stamps in all were produced, made up of 2d. stamps in black top impressions, in black carbon copies, in black carbon copies exceptionally initialled in red ink, and in mauve. A total of 39 remainders were destroyed. The quantity includes the six 1d. stamps produced se-tenant with 2d. stamps in error. A distinction has to be made between black top impressions and black carbon copies and they have been treated as two separate stamps.
2d. Black, top impressions, (S.G.30)
48 were produced, consisting of two sheets of twenty-four stamps, one sheet from Plate 1 and one from Plate 2. All were top impressions typed with black ribbon. 16 unused examples, including a single in the Royal collection and a block of eight, the only recorded multiple, and 1 used on cover, have been recorded. Some may have been among the remainders of the 2d. black carbon copies destroyed, but no separate record was kept.
