Lot Essay

Hopton Hall, Derbyshire, was an Elizebethan House, which was redesigned in the 18th Century. Venetian windows were installed at the front and the centre crowned by a large pediment. The Almshouses nearby were built in 1719 - 22 by Sir Philip Gell.
