A MEISSEN TABLE-CENTREPIECE with four sweetmeat-figures emblematic of the Seasons, the stand modelled as a bouquet of flowers tied with a puce ribbon above a scroll-moulded base, fitted to a two-handled shaped quatrefoil stand applied with four bouquets and moulded with four shallow wells painted with garlands of flowers around a single flower-spray, the moulded details enriched in turquoise and gilding, each figure seated beside a bowl moulded with shells and feuilles-de-choux, Spring as a girl with flowers, Summer as a girl holding corn, Autumn as a youth with grapes and Winter as a youth wearing skates and warming his hands, each on a mound base (bouquet with some petals lacking, chips to extremities, Spring with neck repaired and hat chipped, Summer with chips to corners of apron and shawl), blue crossed swords marks, the stand impressed H, circa 1755, the stand -- 16¾in.
