AN ITALIAN GILTWOOD & GESSO AND GREEN PAINTED RECTANGULAR CASKET, in the Rennaisance style, heightened in gilt with foliage, within stiff-leaf, dentilled and bead moulded borders, the front painted with a processional scene, in the manner of Benozzo Gozzoli, the obverse with the arms of King Carlos Quinto, the sides with laurel wreaths enclosing the latin inscription, Sempre Idem, and Sempre correctus respectively -- 17in. (43.2cm.) wide.
