A POLYCHROME AND PARCEL-GILT CARVED OAK GROUP OF THE VIRGIN AND CHILD, the virgin shown seated on a Dantesque style stool, modelled in the round, the Saviour on her right lap, shown naked and draped with a sash, eating from a bunch of grapes held in the Virgins left hand, Netherlands possibly Utrecht, 16th Century, traces of gilt beneath later paint, worn and rubbed, the fingers on Saviour's left hand damaged -- 39½in. (100.3cm.) high.
