unused 1961 Decimal Surcharges, the award-winning collection all neatly mounted and written-up on pages giving numerous details on overprint types and varieties etc.; included are a good range of multiples, many with imprint/plate numbers, and a wealth of minor type varieties as well as the rarer errors; the collection comprises ½c. (85, including a pair with double overprint -- virtually coincident, a strip of three with the surcharge misplaced and a complete sheet), 1c. (23 with a strip of six -- one showing the surcharge almost entirely omitted, and a single with offset), 2c. (19 with one showing surcharge inverted, one with it misplaced and a corner block of four of the trial surcharge), 2½c. (57 with the very rare inverted surcharge fine used on piece with Mokhotlong c.d.s. -- very few examples recorded), 3½c. (56), 5c. (26), 10c. (19 with one Type II), 12½c. (16), 25c. (30), 50c. (10) and 1r. (15); Postage Dues (45 with 5c. on 2d. block of twelve showing "missing crown" in margin and block of six with "St. Edwards crown" error), Revenues (4), Postal Stationery postcard, aerogrammes (12) and registered envelopes (10); also a few used.
