A GEORGE I GILT-GESSO PIER-GLASS, the later shaped rectangular bevelled plate within a moulded raised slip frame carved with bell-husks and scrolled acanthus on a pounced ground, the shaped pierced cresting centred by a plaited female mask with beaded hair and plumed head-dress, flanked by acanthus-scrolled eagle-heads issuing foliate trails, the hatched border enclosing a foliate-trail panel terminating in bell-husks, restorations, partially re-geszsoed and re-gilt, extended in height by 15in. (38cm.), with chalk inscription to the reverse SALMON STORE
