The 2.5 acre Grand Cru vineyard of La Romanée is the smallest AC in France, it is sited just above La Romanée-Conti and is bordered to the north by Richebourg. La Romanée is made by Forey Père on behalf of the owners, the Ligier-Belair family, it is then matured in 100 new oak casks in the cellars of Bouchare Père who are also responsible for bottling the wine.
La Romanée resemble the wines of Richeboug most being deeply coloured, rich and concentrated with plenty of fruit, body and tannin. The 1985 should be superb
