manuscript on cream paper, 243ff. plus two flyleaves, each with 17ll. of clear black naskh, punctuation in red, gold roundels between verses, gold interlinear divisions between black rules, similar margins and outer margin, divisions of text marked marginally in gold and by illuminated medallions, sura headings in gold, and marked in red in upper left corner of each bifolio, (negligible staining, occasional small repairs), opening bifolio with illuminated scrolling vine in margins, following bifolio fully illuminated around start of text, final folio with colophon signed by Muhammad Salih Mashhadi, from Hamadan and dated Jumada I 1226, the patron named as Muhammad Husain Khan, red lacquer binding with gold and polychrome floral design, red lacquer doublures with gold margins, (crackelure, small chips to edges)
