A LARGE EARLY SAFAVID BLUE AND WHITE POTTERY DISH with rounded sides and everted sloping rim on short foot, the white interior painted with a large central roundel containing a complex strapwork interlace enclosing panels of various forms of hatching radiating from a central stellar flowerhead, the cavetto plain, the rim with diagonal hatching arranges to form a design of lozenge motifs, the exterior with a broad band of continuous vine with scrolling tendrils, 16th century (repaired, very slight restoration)
