One larger portrait is a three-quarter figure study of the young Henry Holcomb Griffith seated between Mary Anna and Eugenia Griffith. The smaller is of Mary Anna and Margaret Griffith. In each the young women wear their hair in long ringlets. The other half-plate study shows a seated man with a woman and young girl leaning on his shoulders.
