With twenty-eight engravings after daguerreotypes, plates approx. 6½ x 9in., titled and with publisher's credit in margin, tissue guards, printed title page, morocco-backed boards, titled in gilt on upper cover and spine (lacking quarter of spine), oblong 4to.; with another copy containing twenty-five plates (disbound). Lot Essay

The second copy is lacking the following plates: 'Nouveau Louvre', 'Palais de L'Industrie' and 'Lac du Bois de Boulogne'. Buerger states that several editions were published between 1845 and 1857.
