Lot Essay

Sherrill Schell photographed the poet Rupert Brooke on a foggy afternoon in his Pimlico flat.

The index on the front cover refers to the size, tone and negative number of each print mounted in the album. Prints from the same negative are frequently paired, with one toned a warm brown and the other grey/black. The list indicates the comparative prices of each.
