A related medallion of Louis XVI signed F.P. Lebrun in the Wallace Collection (S.392) is illustrated in P. Verlet, Les Bronzes Dorés Français du XVIIIe siècle, Paris 1987, p. 134, fig. 171. The signature F. P. Lebrun may mean fait par Lebrun, in which case the sculptor is probably André-Jean Lebrun (1737-1811) (J. G. Mann, Wallace Collection Catalogues: Sculpture, London, 1981, S.392, p. 142 and addendum)
