A PAIR OF EMPIRE BEAUVAIS TAPESTRY STOOL-COVERS en suite with the preceding lot, each rectangular close-nailed panel woven in silks with a central circular medallion on a claret ground, one depicting a palm branch and shield, the other Poseidon's palm-bound Triton within a scrolling floral garlanded border on an ivory ground, on later grey-painted and parcel-gilt X-framed stools with panelled seat-rails carved with rosette and bell-husk sprays, above channelled similarly carved X-frame supports centred by a domed stiff-leaf patera and joined by stretchers, on claw feet
