The arms are those of His Serene Highness Christian Frederick Charles Alexander, Margrave of Brandenburgh-Ansbach and Bayreuth and his wife Elizabeth (d.1828), widow of William, 6th Lord Craven (d.1761) and daughter of Augustus, 4th Earl of Berkeley, whom he married in Lisbon on 13th October 1791. These coasters were no doubt commissioned to celebrate the marriage
