A NORTH AFRICAN NIMCHA with slightly curved fullered single-edged blade clipped at the point, and decorated on each side with gilding and gold-damascened flowerheads and scrollwork over nearly half its length, characteristic hilt with gold-damascened guard, and ivory grip with enamelled brass collar, in original velvet-covered scabbard with enamelled brass mounts, 19th Century; and a Persian sabre with sharply curved watered blade gold-damascened on each side of the forte and along the spine, the hilt entirely of steel cut with arabesques and interlaced designs of flowers and foliage, all in low relief, in velvet-covered scabbard with gold-damascened iron mounts, 18th/19th Century
