AN ITALIAN FINGERED GAUNTLET FOR THE RIGHT HAND with one-piece cuff turned and roped at the border and embossed with acanthus foliage and flowers against a gilt ground, the finger-plates, knuckle-plate and metacarpal plates gold-damascened with running foliage (rubbed, the metal now russet), retaining parts of the original leather glove (some finger-plates replaced), circa 1540, attributed to the workshop of Filipo Negroli of Milan
