The character of the 1952 and 1953 vintages is not dissimilar to those years in Bordeaux. 1953 hocks were immensely appealing following a rare ideal growing season. Wines full of fruit and charm. The best, well kept, can still be lovely.
Tasting note (a half bottle): buttercup yellow; delightful, slightly minty Riesling nose; medium sweet, lovely flavour and aftertaste. Very distinctive and stylish 3 bottles per lot
