A PAIR OF RED LACQUER RECTANGULAR COMPOUND CABINETS composed of lacquer panels set in wooden frames inlaid with mother-of-pearl key-pattern, supported on four scroll feet, the central pair of doors deeply carved with a five-clawed dragon chasing a flaming pearl amongst turbulent waves, beneath similarly decorated panels on the smaller doors on the upper section, the lower section forming a narrow drawer carved with six carp swimming and diving amongst waves, the sides and the top of the cabinets carved with trellis-pattern, the central doors opening to reveal two small drawers, the brass hinges and door fittings incised with scrolls (some restoration), 18th Century
