A LARGE DAUNIAN COLUMN KRATER, the bulbous body on flaring foot, with short cylindrical neck, the mouth with horizontal rim, with twin handles each supported by two columns, the buff coloured clay covered with a pale slip and decorated in brownish-black paint over the whole of the exterior, including bands and panels of palmettes attached to wavy lines, laurel leaf and other foliage friezes, vertical tendrils with vine leaves and grape bunches, continuous scroll and stepped and meander patterns interrupted by stars, late 4th Century B.C.
