Original publisher's olive-green morocco-grained cloth, covers stamped in blind, spines ruled, decorated and lettered in gilt, pale cream-colored endpapers (spines lightly faded to brown, front cover of vol. II lightly sunned, small chips at ends of spine); quarter morocco folding case. Provenance: Robert S. Sturgis (stamps on titles) -- purchased from Jerrold Nedwick, Chicago, 6 August 1966.

FIRST EDITION, in the first binding, of one of Browning's best collections. Included are the poems "Love Among the Ruins," "Fra Lippo Lippi," "Any Wife to any Husband," and "The Statue and the Bust."
