Small 8o (139 x 92 mm). Collation: [maltese cross]4 A-Dd8. Gothic types, 31 lines and headline. Title within historiated woodcut border with Petit's mark (McKerrow & Ferguson 43), white-on-black criblé initials. (Final blank removed.) 19th-century English grain-stamped calf gilt, marbled edges (rebacked preserving original spine, some wear); quarter morocco folding case.

Provenance: contemporary and 18th century marginalia -- Dawson Turner (1775-1858) botanist and antiquary (note on flyleaf), sold Sotheby's London, 18 March 1853, lot 1796 -- Henry Cuncliffe (bookplate) -- purchased from Ximenes, New York, 10 April 1967.

Final, corrected edition of George Ferrer's translation of the Magna Carta, following the first edition in English printed by Robert Redman (The boke of Magna Carta, 1534) and the second English edition printed by Redman's widow (The great charter called i latyn Magna Carta, ca. 1541). The note to the reader calls the edition "this second prynt." Beale S13; STC 9276.
