Chancery 4o (202 x 138 mm). Collation: a-b6 c4 (a1r title with Petit's device [Davis 92a], a1v blank, a2r text, c3v colophon, c4r table). 16 leaves. 40 lines. Roman types 10:92 (first line of title), 15:79 (text and shoulder notes), Greek type (one word on a3r). Printed Lombard initials. (Some light soiling.) Modern quarter morocco; cloth folding case. Provenance: purchased from Plandome Book Auctions, 15 September 1993.

"One of the most popular sources of geographic knowledge in mediaeval times" (Sarton, Introduction to the History of Science, I, p.258). Composed in Greek near the end of the third century, the work is a description of a journey through the known world. This edition was reprinted from that of De Pensis, 1498.
