A GILTWOOD FAUTEUIL of Regence style, the shaped rectangular padded back and seat covered in ivory watered-silk with foliate appliqué within an entwined golden thread foliate border, the entrelac carved frame surmounted by a central Apollo mask with acanthus-sprays and espagnolette-masks for the angles, the scrolled rockwork and acanthus-carved arms with further mask terminals, above a shaped seat-rail with central female mask between confronting C-scrolls and on hybrid, owl and eagle-headed cabriole legs and scroll feet
