A related Athénienne with a torch-bearing figure of Hymen applied to the spreading triangular stem is in the Karlsruhe Badisches Landesmuseum (G3785, illustrated in H. Ottomeyer/P. Proschel et al., Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich 1986, Vol. II, p. 362, fig. 5.12.1). A closely related pair of brûle-parfums was in the René Fribourg Collection, sold Sotheby's London, 17 October 1963, lot 645. A further pair were sold anonymously in these Rooms, 10 June 1993, lot 1.
