The Sir Alec Issigonis Morris Minor Saloon was introduced in October 1948. The car was powered by the 28bhp, 918cc side valve engine with a four speed gearbox. From late 1952, following the merger with Austin, the Minor was fitted with the overhead valve 803cc engine from the Austin A30. The Minor became the Minor 1000 in 1956 and the 949cc engine was uprated to 1,048cc in the early sixties giving 48bhp at 5,100bhp.
This car has bills addressed to the current owner dating back to 1973 and there is an MoT which expires in December 1994. The car is believed to have covered less than 170,000 miles and is described as being in original condition. There is a Harry Moss roof rack and a quantity of spares including a bumper, Les Leston wood rim steering wheel and a cylinder head complete with twin 1¼ inch SU carburettors mounted on the correct aluminium inlet manifold. Modifications include the fitting of a full set of fibre glass wings, twin reversing lights, Koni shock absorbers, full engine compartment sound-proofing and a large bore straight through silencer system matched to a Janspeed multi branch exhaust manifold.
