The acquisition of the Daimler Motor Company by Jaguar in 1960 not only saved the future of the famous company, but provided Jaguar with the SP250 Daimler sports car 2½-litre V8 engine. The first direct result of the merger was the launching of the Daimler 2½-litre V8 which is essence was the fitting of a Daimler engine into the Jaguar Mk II Saloon. Aesthetically the cars looked identical except the Daimler had a fluted radiator and the interior was of a higher standard. The 140bhp V8 engine was usually mated to a three speed Borg-Warner automatic gearbox providing 112mph and the general handling was considered superior to the Jaguar and was quieter and more refined.

This Daimler is unusual in that it has a manual gearbox. There is a current MoT and the car is described as being in fair condition.
