Lancia's successor to the popular Appia was introduced in 1963 as the all new V4, 1,091cc Fulvia Sedan. This was an attractive four door capable of 86mph. Two years later Lancia announced the Fulvia coupe with a subtle, streamlined shape and large 2+2 passenger compartment. The series II version appeared in the autumn of 1970 and had a redesigned front end and wider tyres. In larger engined form, the Lnacia Fulvia coupe proved highly successful on the racetrack culminating in winning the world rally title in 1972.
This 1.3-litre version with 85bhp at 6,000rpm was capable of speeds over 100mph and comes with the desirable five speed gearbox. This highly presentable example has had two owners from new, the current owner having purchased it after its first six months and some 9,000 miles. It has a full service history from 1973 until around 1980, since when it has been used very sparingly. There are further invoices from 1991 detailing attention to the bodywork and a major service. The car has a new MoT. A low oil pressure reading has been checked by the garage and shown to be very good giving 60psi at 2,000rpm.
