c1963 ROVER 95 SALOON
Registration No. 668 MDV
Chassis No. 76000234
Engine No. 76000318
White with blue leather interior
Right hand drive
Launched in 1949 the Rover P4 appeared in numerous different guises using both four and six cylinder power. The model number from 60, 75, 80, 90, 95, 100, 105 to the eventual 110 was supposed to relate to a horsepower rating, though in fact was more of a rounding up figure. The Rover 95 appeared in 1962 and had changed very little from the first P4, twelve years before. It did however have the powerful six cylinder engine producing 102bhp at 4,750rpm.
This P4 has remained in one family ownership from new, residing mainly in the Topsham area of Devon. It has been off the road for nearly 20 years. We have had the opportunity of inspecting the vehicle from below and are pleased to report that despite some surface rust it appears extremely sound. The bodywork is also generally sound too with only light rust appearing in the usual places such as the bottom edges. The paintwork is in need of redoing with the odd rust spot coming through and some paint flaking. By the time of the auction the P4 will be in running condition with both the brakes and clutch freed off. This is certainly a sound basis for a restoration project.
