The Sunbeam name had first been used on bicycles and japanned metal wares for which John Marston's firm had become famous in Victorian times. Sunbeam first experimented with cars in 1899. In 1920 the company amalgamated with Talbot and Darracq and this provided a wide range of racing successes from Grand Prix victories to World Land Speed records.

This 'barn discovery' example is the six cylinder, 2,035cc, overhead valve 16hp coupe model. Very much requiring restoration the majority of components do seem to be present which should enable a Sunbeam enthusiast to return this handsome vehicle to the road again. Sunbeam were greatly respected for their solid and reliable rewarding experience. The vehicle registration number is recorded with the DVLC and both this and the engine and chassis numbers will be verified at the time of auction.
