1959 AUSTIN A40 TWO DOOR SALOON
Registration No. OSK 795
Chassis No. A/A25656182
Engine No. 90UH56985
Pale blue with black roof and green leatherette interior
Right hand drive
As a first stage in replacing the popular A35 models, a new A40, the Farina was introduced in 1958. This had two wide doors, but the coachwork at the rear was more reminiscent of estate car design. The sound logic of this arrangement was quick to catch on. The system gave an airy interior to the car and immense space for packages which could now be piled roof high.
This car is in very original and good condition with less than 67,000 miles on the clock. The chrome is slightly mottled and the bumpers appear to have been painted silver. It has lived in the Bristol area for most of its life and has an MoT until April 1995.
