A Fine Flintlock Blunderbuss

With signed belled brass barrel in three stages, the breech section octagonal then sixteen-sided and engraved with lines and strawberry foliage, at the rear a raised moulding, plain tang, signed border engraved rounded lock with further strawberry leaf engraving, moulded beech full stock (fore-end cracked) with raised stepped moulding at the barrel tang, brass mounts including flat butt-plate with long tang, and pierced scroll side-plate (finial missing), the former retained by tacks and engraved with strawberry foliage, shaped escutcheon engraved with a caricature profile bust, single turned brass ramrod-pipe, and later brass-capped ramrod, London proof marks
